RSU successfully conducted its first Town Hall Meeting with student leaders on February 19, 2026, via Zoom, marking a significant step toward strengthening open communication and participatory governance between the University administration and the student body.

The virtual dialogue was led by Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS), Dr. Gianinna Elaine Labicane, and Student Development and Services Office (SDSO) Director, Engr. Kenreid Nuel F. Dela Vega, and was attended by, Federation of Supreme Student Councils (FSSC) officers, Supreme Student Council (SSC) Presidents and recognized student organization leaders from across RSU campuses.

The town hall served as a platform to present and discuss the organizations' upcoming plans and programs, while also providing space for student leaders to raise pressing concerns and challenges encountered in organizing activities and representing their respective constituencies.

Key issues discussed included leadership capacity-building needs, coordination processes for student initiatives, and the overall direction of student development programs.

This initiative aims to be regular consultative mechanism between RSU’s student leaders and the administration, ensuring that student voices are meaningfully integrated into decision-making processes. The Town Hall Meeting aims to foster transparency, collaboration, and shared responsibility in advancing programs that promote holistic student development and a more responsive campus environment.

RSU reaffirms its commitment to student participation in governance, recognizing student leaders as vital partners in shaping policies, programs, and initiatives that directly impact campus life.
