The SustainEd Lecture Series concluded on April 30, 2026, marking the culmination of a three-day academic initiative led by the Romblon State University International Relations Office (RSU-IRO) in partnership with Sunway University through the Sunway Centre for Planetary Health (SCPH). Centered on the theme “Solutions,” the final session featured Associate Professor Dr. Jane Gew Lai Ti, who highlighted the critical connections between food systems, environmental sustainability, and human health, emphasizing sustainable diets and climate-resilient production. The series as a whole provided a dynamic platform for faculty and students to engage with global perspectives on planetary health, reinforcing the importance of translating knowledge into practical actions that support sustainable and resilient communities.

Romblon State University, through the International Relations Office, successfully concluded the SustainEd Lecture Series: Advancing Sustainability Education through SDG Classroom Learning on April 30, 2026, in partnership with Sunway University through the Sunway Centre for Planetary Health (SCPH). The three-day academic engagement brought together faculty members, students, and international experts to explore interdisciplinary perspectives on planetary health, sustainability, and education.

Guided by the learning progression Systems → Impacts → Solutions, the final day focused on “Solutions,” highlighting practical and actionable strategies for sustainable development. The session featured Associate Professor Dr. Jane Gew Lai Ti, from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences, Sunway University, who delivered a lecture on Planetary Health and Sustainable Food Systems: Linking Diet, Environment, and Human Health. Her discussion emphasized the interconnections between global food systems and public health outcomes, the importance of sustainable diets in reducing environmental impact, and the need for climate-resilient food production systems. She also underscored the role of higher education institutions in promoting responsible consumption and advancing sustainability practices within communities.

The SustainEd Lecture Series served as a meaningful platform for knowledge exchange, bridging global expertise with local academic engagement.
