February 18, 2026 – Presidents of state universities and colleges (SUCs), regional agency leaders, and other key officials joined the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) MIMAROPA First Quarter Meeting at the La Breza Hotel, Barangay South Triangle, Quezon City.
Dr. Edna Imelda F. Legazpi, RGADC MIMAROPA Chairperson and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) MIMAROPA Regional Director led the proceedings.
President Mani attended the session as the key representative of Romblon State University.
During the session, Ms. Carolyn D. Fetalver, Director of the Gender and Development Office at Romblon State University (RSU), presented the university’s best practices in GAD implementation. She highlighted effective strategies and initiatives that successfully advanced gender mainstreaming within the institution.
Participants reviewed and approved the RGADC MIMAROPA-PCW Work Plan for Calendar Year 2026, established a Technical Working Group for the committee, discussed preparations for the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration, shared best practices in Gender and Development (GAD) from member agencies, presented the RGADC MIMAROPA Accomplishment Report for CY 2025, and examined the summary of attendance for the previous year.
The meeting reinforced the region’s commitment to strengthen gender equality and inclusive development across MIMAROPA through active coordination and collaboration among regional mechanisms and agencies.
